Why Train in Product Packaging and Presentation?
In food retail, packaging plays a much broader role than simply protecting a product.
The choice of paper, containers, colours, ribbons, and even the way a product is displayed all contribute directly to enhancing its appeal and strengthening the image of the store.
An attractive presentation can also help catch customers’ attention, improve the shopping experience and encourage additional sales.
For sales teams, these skills are particularly important during key commercial periods such as Christmas and the festive season, Valentine’s Day, Easter, birthdays and gift campaigns.
A Training Course Developed with an Industry Expert
In response to a request from a CFA (French apprenticeship training centre) in the Roanne region, Baguette Academy and Bénédicte Durand jointly developed a training programme specifically dedicated to food product packaging and in-store presentation techniques.
Bénédicte, a French packaging champion and certified trainer, brings highly practical expertise to this course.
With 35 years of experience running a bakery, pastry shop and chocolate business, she teaches learners techniques that can be directly applied in-store: creating neat and attractive packaging, selecting appropriate materials, assembling gift baskets, and designing presentations that are consistent with the store’s identity.
A Practical Response to a Specific Training Need
This course was designed in response to a need identified by the CFA, with the aim of providing its sales instructors and apprentices enrolled in the CS (Certificat de Spécialisation) Food Sales Advisor programme with practical training that can be directly applied in the workplace.
The programme was therefore tailored to address real-life situations encountered in-store and to develop skills that can be put into practice immediately in a professional environment.
Skills Developed During the Training
The course covers the following techniques and practical skills:
Ribboning Techniques
Create attractive packaging suited to different types of products.
Colour Theory
Combine colours to create harmonious and consistent presentations.
Measuring and Adjusting
Measure and adapt paper, ribbons and other materials required for packaging
Choosing Containers
Select suitable containers and materials according to the product, its size and the desired presentation.
In-Store Presentation
Enhance the presentation of products, display windows and sales areas.
Gifts and Gift Baskets
Create attractive arrangements that increase the perceived value of the products and offers.
Better Packaging… in Less Time
In a professional environment, appearance alone is not enough.
Teams must also be able to produce high-quality packaging efficiently and within a controlled timeframe, particularly during busy periods.
The training therefore combines technical expertise with operational efficiency to help teams:
enhance products → improve presentation → strengthen the customer experience → increase additional sales.
This approach reflects Baguette Academy’s philosophy: providing professional training that is directly connected to the realities of the industry and the needs of businesses and training organisations.
A New Training Course for Sales Professionals
With this new course, Baguette Academy is expanding its expertise beyond technical production skills to also support sales teams and food retail professionals.
The training may therefore be of interest to bakeries and pastry shops, chocolate shops, food retailers, grocery stores, specialised stores, apprenticeship training centres (CFAs) and training organisations looking to develop their teams’ skills.
The Festive Season Is Approaching
The festive season is a particularly strategic time for gift wrapping, product arrangements and gift baskets.
